Good morning CRES families,
It is hard to believe that there are fewer than three weeks of school remaining until the end of the year! Here are some dates for your home calendars that will help you in knowing what to expect in the days leading up to May 21, our last day of school.
- Our 2012-2013 calendar has not been finalized by our school board yet. If there are no changes to the proposed calendar, our first day of school will be August 16. We are also planning on holding Back to School Night before the first day of school. I will send out an e-mail to all families confirming dates for these events as soon as the calendar has board approval.
Friday, May 4 – Minimum Day for teacher planning. Cosumnes River, Dillard, and Sunrise Elementary Schools will all have minimum days on May 4 due to shared bus services. Kindergarten classes will all be on an early schedule (7:50 – 11:10) while grades 1-6 will go from 7:50 – 12:20
Tuesday, May 8 – Parent Volunteer Appreciation Tea 7:15 – 8 a.m. in the Library
Wednesday, May 9 – Accelerated Reader BBQ for students reaching their grade level goals, Mr. Gulden and Mrs. Stretars will be grilling up hot dogs and burgers during student lunchtimes
Friday, May 11 – 2nd Annual Student Talent Showcase All participants are winners in this student organized showcase of student talent, which will take place at 1 p.m. on the quad at CRES. Parents are invited to attend. In the event of bad weather, we will move into the MP Room.
Thursday, May 17 – Kindergarten Promotion Ceremony at 9:00 a.m.
Friday, May 18 – 6th Grade Promotion Ceremony at 9:00 a.m.
Monday, May 21 – Last Day of School Minimum Day and Field Day In addition to the Field Day fun and festivities, will also be celebrating our recognition as a 2012 California Distinguished School and taking our annual student-body and staff photograph
