In order to help balance the budget and keep people in place to help students, all EGUSD employees have made personal sacrifices, including the superintendent, the associate superintendents and all members of all employee groups.

The following chart details the concessions that employees have given since 2009-2010.  Under current employee contracts, these concessions will end in the 2012-2013 school year.

Furlough Days – School Year Calendar

The 2011-2012 school year calendar has been modified to accommodate five instructional furlough days and four pre-service or professional development days. The furlough days are part of an agreement between the Elk Grove Unified School District and the Elk Grove Education Association. The agreement includes a reverse minimum day for the first day of school. Other furlough days fall throughout the school year. Students do not come to school on furlough days. Due to the various schedules within EGUSD schools, the furlough days vary.

2011-2012 School Year Calendar (.pdf) – to print calendar on 8.5×11 paper, you will need to change your scale settings to “fit to printable area”.

Furlough days have been added to the calendar. Furlough days are designated by the letter “F.” On days when the calendar has an “F” students do not come to school. The brown colored “F” denotes a preservice or professional development furlough day for teachers when students do not come to school.
