This book was really depressing for a lot of it, but I loved it! it was hard to read, as peter is unsafe, physically and mentally for so long. Ultimately the end is extremely satisfying. Just as you think katniss is slipping away, and her heroism fading...she suprises you with her final stance against the hunger games, against inhuman incruelty, and against corrupt governments. I loved this book.

I agree with Javier, this book is wonderful and very exciting. The Lightning Thief is a wonderful mixture of reality and mythology. The main character, Percy, is real, not a perfect character, but full of his own problems. By writing Percy in this way, Riordan has allowed his readers to connect to Percy and his flaws.

Best Book ever! Read the sequel, it really closes some questions, but opens up new ones. This book is full of thrills, chills, and I reccommend it to anyone who likes adventure
